![]() I also tried to re-install the drivers, but it says the driver is not on the disk (i have the original disk!) and a generic driver didn't work. I tried to align the printer, but that also said "device is busy". It's probably a more current version than what's on the disc. The most current software driver for Windows XP for that printer is here. I went into the toolbox and tried the "clean" function, but that would not work - it said "device busy". Cancelling the print job and then restarting the computer probably would've reset everything back to normal. When I try to print a test page, it does the same thing. It sat so long that I canceled it, eventually when I printed again I discovered that if I wait long enough, it took the paper in, then printed like 1 line and stopped, few minutes later 1 more line, etc I canceled it. but it suddenly turned extremely s-l-o-w. I was printing a couple pages yesterday and it was ok, then I discovered I made a mistake and needed to print it again, and I didn't do anything different. I have this HP printer with my windows xp system.
